Spiced Red Cabbage

Ingredients:

·          1 large head of red cabbage, slice ¼ inch thick, about 5 cups

·          1 cup chopped apple

·          1 tab whole allspice

·          ½ tsp salt

·         ¼ tsp nutmeg

·         ¼ tsp cinnamon

·         ¼ tsp black or white pepper

·         ¼ cup red wine vinegar

·          1/3 cup brown sugar

·         4 tab butter

·         1 tsp garlic pepper

 

Directions:

Place cabbage in pan, add enough water to cover.  Bring to boil, simmer for 5 minutes.  Drain all but ½ cup of liquid.  Add rest; cook till cabbage and apple are soft.

Cook for 15 to 20 minutes.
